PAST 5TH DISTRICT COMMANDERS AND PRESIDENTS MEET

The Fifth District Past Legion Commanders and Past Auxiliary Presidents met at Lowville Post 162 on Sunday, May 2nd for their annual meeting and dinner. There were twelve past commanders and 4 past presidents present. The current 5th District commander was absent.
The menu was roast turkey and pork with mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetable, macaroni salad, tossed salad plus a dessert of hot apple crisp with ice cream. A feast for a king and queen.
The past commanders had a discussion on the need for preparation before ascending the chairs to become 5th District Commander. Certain obligations should be met when serving at this level of command and if a person cannot commit to them, then they should abstain from taking the office. There will be more information on this at a later date.
