The War on...Easter?

Looks like Christmas isn’t the only holiday being attacked in our nation’s public schools. Now, teachers at an elementary school in Alabama have actually been told not to use the word “Easter” in the interest of religious diversity.
According to television station WHNT, Principal Lydia Davenport informed teachers that “no activities related to or centered around any religious holiday would be allowed – in the interest of religious diversity.”
Davenport told the station, “Kids love the bunny, and we just make sure we don’t say ‘the Easter bunny’ so that we don’t infringe on the rights of others because people relate the Easter bunny to religion; a bunny is a bunny and a rabbit is a rabbit.”
Teachers at the school had planned to have the kids participate in a “quiz bowl” egg hunt in which students would search for answers to questions in “Easter eggs.” Instead, administrators will allow the teachers to use different shapes, not eggs. They also can’t use the word “Easter” in any activities.
Unfortunately, this is the culture that is forming across the country in our public schools. Groups like Freedom From Religion Foundation and the ACLU have instilled a sense of fear into teachers and school administrators, and now we are seeing student’s religious rights being infringed upon to avoid potential conflicts and lawsuits from these aggressive organizations.

We must be constantly aware of these atheistic dangers - these persons that seek to destroy our very liberties and the principles we have been raised on.
