VALENTINES FOR VETERANS
 American Legion Post # 268 member David Kiernan celebrates Valentine's Day with his wife, Norma Kiernan, both residents of Morningstar in Oswego, New York.

The couple have been married for more than 50 years and were among the recipients of the Valentines for Vets project, which provides every veteran in a nursing home in Oswego County with a card and a new $5 bill.

Each year, the auxiliary units that make up Oswego County American Legion Auxiliary hold a Cash for Gas raffle to raise money for the program.  
  
Valentines were delivered to the following:
Elderberry Homestead, Pulaski (1)
Evergreen FHA, Pulaski (1)
Meadowbrook Manor, Hannibal (2)
Michaud Residential HS, Fulton (8)
Morningstar Res. Care Center, Oswego (18)
Pontiac Nursing Home, Oswego (15)
The Manor at Seneca Hill, Oswego (19)
St. Luke's HS, Oswego (8)
Unity Acres, Orwell (11)
Vale Haven, Oswego (4)

     A total of 87 valentines were distributed.
