What is the Vet Center?
The Vet Center is a safe place where veterans can feel secure that they will be treated with respect and understanding. We will listen to your concerns and make every effort to help you.
In June 1979 Congress established what was then called the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Counseling Program. The intent was to make VA services more accessible and user friendly for Vietnam Veterans who were not making use of traditional VA services. In 1991, Congress expanded the program to make Vet Center services available for all pre and post Vietnam veterans who have served in a combat zone. Now, most veterans who have served in a combat zone are eligible for these services and there is no charge to the veteran or their family.

This care includes quality counseling, community education, outreach to special populations, the brokering of serviceds with community agencies, and provides a key link between the veteran and other services in the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
